We are seeking an experienced finance professional to play a pivotal role in leading our finance transformation initiatives, specifically overseeing the migration of our accounting system from Xero to Paprika. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial operations and technology transformation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing finance systems, optimizing processes, and driving smooth transitions within finance teams.
This is a six-month contract role offering a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change in our finance operations and ensure a seamless system migration.
What is this role about
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Transformation:
1. Lead the migration from Xero to Paprika, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
2. Partner with the finance team to implement new systems, improve processes, and design efficient operating models.
3. Develop comprehensive project plans and progress reports.
4. Challenge existing processes to identify opportunities for implementing best practices, automation, and greater efficiency.
5. Build business cases to enhance automation, internal controls, and reporting within the finance function.
6. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, simplifying complex concepts and tailoring communication to the audience's level of technical readiness.
Accounting Operations Leadership:
1. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the accounting operations team.
2. Oversee the organization's cash flow, liquidity management, and treasury operations.
3. Implement effective treasury strategies to optimize working capital and mitigate financial risks.
4. Streamline accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and vendor payments.
5. Manage customer accounts, invoicing, and cash application processes, ensuring optimal accounts receivable performance and reducing outstanding balances.
6. Establish and enforce credit control policies and procedures.
7. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
8. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and standards.
9. Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including the review and approval of journal entries and adjustments.
10. Local tax reporting across UK, UAE, KSA & Greece, including but not limited to VAT, Corporation Tax, WHT reporting.
Requirements
What are we looking for:
1. Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role.
2. Proven expertise in leading technology transformation projects within finance teams, including system migrations and process optimization.
3. Experience working within a Marketing Communications or Media Production Agency is highly preferred.
4. Experience using Paprika is desirable.
5. Fully Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
6. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
7. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and manage diverse stakeholders.
