If so, we’d love to hear from you The opportunity Exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a global leader in speciality Chemicals, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimising the reliability of the site’s operations. The role Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for providing Day Shift mechanical support to the production department, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. This role offers opportunities to work with the latest technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Your duties and responsibilities will be Maintenance and Repair Activities Perform planned maintenance, inspections, and overhauls of plant equipment and site facilities. Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime. Conduct testing, inspection, and reporting of plant conditions to ensure reliability. Undertake post-maintenance and post-installation proving of equipment prior to operational handover. Install and commission new equipment and make modifications to existing systems. Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Comply with site SHE procedures, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and promote a positive safety culture. Conduct risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities, ensuring safety is a priority. Support and encourage SHE compliance among colleagues and contractors. Collaboration and Communication Coordinate with other trades and support functions to complete tasks efficiently. Use computerised and paper-based systems to record maintenance history and ensure task continuity. Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments to set priorities and meet deadlines. Continuous Improvement and Development: Share and develop skills across multiple disciplines to enhance team performance. Stay proactive in developing knowledge and skills to meet the evolving needs of the business. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and processes. General Duties Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop and across the site. Ensure compliance with the site quality management system and assist in quality checks and calibrations. Use of FLT and MEWP as required. You will have the following qualifications and experience HNC/HND in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline (or working towards). Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering. Time-served mechanical apprenticeship. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer systems. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to undertake certified confined space entry tasks as required. It's great if you also have the following Maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment. Working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
