About The Team
The Bidding, Income and Development (BID) team secures external income for the university through the support, design, and delivery of high-quality funding applications. This team understands the external funding landscape to ensure the university is well placed to maximize funding opportunities, supported by collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. This role sits within a section of the BID team responsible for Research and Knowledge Exchange funding.
About The Role
As a Bid Writer, you will support the development and writing of funding proposals and project design proposals that align both with the University’s strategic priorities and areas of research and knowledge exchange excellence at UWE. You will play a pivotal role in increasing external income by proactively identifying and preparing significant grant funding proposals. This role involves close collaboration with colleagues across the University’s professional services and academic staff to identify and respond to funding opportunities, shaping and facilitating project design, and drafting compelling written proposals. The priority area of focus for this role will be in activity relating to sustainability and the environment.
About You
We are looking for a proficient Bid Writer to join our team with the skills and knowledge to support and deliver new funding opportunities for Research and Knowledge Exchange activity relating to sustainability and the environment, focusing on funders including the Economic and Social Sciences Research Council, Natural Environment Research Council, and Royal Society.
You will exhibit excellent writing and editing skills and take responsibility for the successful completion of funding applications. We seek a team member who is an agile, detail-oriented multitasker, comfortable working both within a team and independently. You will also be alert, responsive to new challenges and calls, and adept at communicating with teams from diverse backgrounds, ensuring you can gather the necessary information to develop competitive bids showcasing the University’s expertise.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part-time.
