To assist the Oral & Maxillofacial/Orthodontic Department Manager in creating and maintaining an environment in which members of the department team can contribute to the maximum of their ability in providing a high standard of patient care.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes. He/she is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and may be required to demonstrate procedures to, and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
Main duties of the job
1. Assess, plan implement and evaluate programmes of evidence based dental nursing care.
2. Assist in the management and organisation of a clinical area.
3. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Experience
* Minimum of three years post registration experience
* A broad range of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontic clinical experience within a hospital setting
* Immediate Life Support
Qualifications
* Qualified dental Nurse (registered)
* Two post registration qualifications in Sedation nursing, Oral Health Education or Orthodontic Nursing
