Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

About the Role: We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide support in delivering educational programs and to enhance the learning experience of our students. This role requires a passionate individual who can contribute to the academic growth and personal development of pupils in a range of classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes as directed by the teacher, ensuring that pupils are engaged and on-task.
2. Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour.
3. Support the use of ICT in the classroom and develop pupils' competence and independence in its use.
4. Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
5. Manage the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking work and ensuring a constructive learning environment.
6. Respond to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
7. Assist with the development of support materials for curriculum activities.
8. Provide support outside of your normal classes, such as helping during exams, covering for absent teachers, or assisting on school outings.
9. Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a professional team.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational policies, special procedures, and the school's development plan.
Requirements
1. Qualified to at least HLTA status or equivalent.
2. Experience working in an educational setting with children or young people.
3. Strong understanding of the national curriculum and a variety of educational needs.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
7. Patience and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
8. A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
