Job Title: Financial Accounting Manager - 18 month FTC
Location: North West England, South Manchester (commutable from Wilmslow, Cheadle, Alderley Edge, Stockport, Runcorn etc).
Job Type: Contract, 18 month FTC (not day rate), Full-Time hours, Hybrid 3 days in the office/2 WFH
Job Duties:
1. Manage and oversee financial accounting activities for the UK and Ireland
2. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
3. Prepare financial statements and reports
4. Tax returns - VAT, Corporation Tax etc.
5. Balance sheet reconciliation
6. Monitor and analyse financial data
7. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
8. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes
9. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
10. Provide financial analysis and support to senior management
11. Manage and mentor a small team
Required Qualifications:
1. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
2. Proven experience in financial accounting
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP such as SAP or Oracle
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
4. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in a managerial or supervisory role
2. Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards
