LOCATION: UK, remote THE ROLE: Channel Pre-Sales Engineer (Pre-Sales) – UK/I & APAC This position involves daily interaction with Channel Partners, Distributors, Alliance Partners and customers, and internal teams. Working closely with the Channel teams, you will be involved in the partner and customer journey from the discovery phase to post-sales handover. Routine activities include technical channel enablement, Proof of Concept tracking and advancing sales opportunities towards closure. Expect to travel 2-3 weeks out of a month and 2-3 days each of those weeks. A strong desire to learn and a proactive attitude are essential. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Act as the technical advisor for IGEL’s channel partners, providing deep expertise on IGEL OS, UMS (Universal Management Suite), and related ecosystem technologies. · Deliver technical training and enablement sessions to partners, ensuring they can position, demo, and deploy IGEL solutions effectively. · Support partners in developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs), conducting product evaluations, and resolving technical roadblocks. · Assist in the certification process for partners to become IGEL-accredited. · Channel and Customer Engagement: Provide excellent service to IGEL’s Channel ecosystem and customers across the UK/I and APAC regions. · Technical Contact: Serve as the primary technical contact for Channel Partners and customers from discovery to post-sales handover · Relationship Building: Build and maintain customer and partner rapport through virtual meetings and on-site visits · Solution Development: Analyze customer and partner needs and develop technical solutions. · Proof of Concepts: Prepare, execute, and support proof of concepts · RFI/RFP Management: Take ownership of technical RFIs, RFPs, and public tenders and respond in a timely manner · Complex Projects: Work on complex projects, architecting solutions in collaboration with customers and partners while adhering to IGEL reference architecture and best practices · Technology Integration: Assist new technology partners in integrating their solutions into IGEL OS and hand over to the IGEL Ready team to generate new business · Remote Assistance: Use remote tools to demonstrate IGEL’s solutions and assist customers in troubleshooting issues · Presentations, Workshops and Industry events: Proactively prepare, execute, and follow up on technical product presentations and workshops. Demonstrate technology at industry events and trade shows · Training Promotion: Promote IGEL training offerings, additional services, and certifications · Independent Judgment: Exercise wide latitude for independent judgment · Collaboration: Collaborate with Development, Customer Engineering, Advanced Services, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to create new technical sales strategies · Feedback Loop: Communicate customer and market requirements to Product Management and Development · Continuous Learning: Continue education by attending training sessions and reading technical documentation · Technical Troubleshooting: Work through technical issues at the operating system level · Escalation Management: Manage case escalation to maintain forward movement on sales opportunities · Travel: Ability and willingness to travel as needed EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Technical Skills · Minimum of 3 years of Pre-Sales Engineer experience · Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems · In-depth knowledge of IGEL’s products and solutions, especially IGEL OS, the UniversalManagement Suite, and the IGEL Cloud Gateway, or other Thin Client/Endpoint operating systems is a plus · Good understanding of solutions offered by IGEL’s technology partners · Experience in Remote Desktop Services, Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS, Citrix, VMware, Horizon environments · Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, AD, etc. Personal Skills · Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with engineers, sales teams, and management · Strong presentation and public speaking skills – you will be comfortable presenting to large audiences and small groups. · Team player who builds good working relationships across all levels · Flexibility, integrity, and creative problem-solving skills · Ability to explain complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner as well as effective communication via phone and email · Good listening skills and effective note-taking and multitasking skills · Adaptability to new technologies · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Matt Krajnik Matt.krajnikigel.com IGEL Technology Green Park, 200 Brook Drive, Reading, Berkshire, RG2 6UB, United Kingdom, Mob: 07939236699 Interested?
