Vacancies Clinical Matron for (Oncology and Haematology)
Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual, with proven leadership/managerial experience, to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust within the Clinical Specialist services care group as the Clinical Matron for Oncology and Haematology (Northern Services) and Deputy Lead Cancer Nurse (RDUH). The post holder will be based on our Northern Site in Barnstaple with occasional travel to our Exeter site.
About the Role
Working closely with the senior and operational managers, you will provide a highly visible & supportive presence inspiring the professional development of nursing whilst ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe patient care across all areas within oncology and haematology. The matron will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within Oncology and Clinical Haematology services. The key focus will be Patient/Client and staff Safety, Patient Experience, user engagement, quality care and Clinical Outcomes, staff development and specialist training ensuring staff are able to safely deliver SACT.
The matron will have lead clinical responsibility in oncology and haematology (northern services) and support the Care group in activities relating to the delivery of high quality services, including involvement in maintaining activity levels, managing service pressures & patient flow and maintaining the highest standards of care. Day to day operational support to the Seamoor unit which is our SACT day treatment unit, professional line manager to the speciality Clinical Nurse Specialists and operational management of the Fern Centre our cancer support centre.
Alongside the Clinical Matron role, you will deputise for the Lead Cancer Nurse, leading, influencing, developing and expanding cancer services throughout the Trust and strategically influencing the direction of cancer nursing. This is an exciting opportunity to help fully integrate the services across RDUH to ensure patient pathways and policies are aligned and North Devon patients have an equitable service.
This exciting role will support the development of your existing skills enhancing your leadership, professional & people management within the clinical environment. As a role model you will influence and contribute to the development of nursing across the speciality.
