Full Time- Permanent Post
Reporting into the Head of Estates the post-holder will be responsible for managing the operational Engineering & Building Maintenance services of the Trust Estate.
Assist in the planning, co-ordination, and development of Estates services, by working with peer managers and stakeholders to identify best practice and implement a practical, cost-effective method of taking the services forward.
Assist in the review of performance of all areas of the service including drafting of policies and procedures, working in partnership with peers to develop policies and strategies of each of the services to meet the needs of all users.
To undertake the operational management of designated Estates Maintenance services including delegated Engineering Capital projects, to ensure that they are delivered in an efficient and effective manner and provide a proactive, high quality and cost-effective service.
The post-holder will provide specialist management, advice, and support as per HTM 00
The post holder will act using their own initiative as the Operational Estates Manager and be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service to include Property maintenance, Equipment maintenance and Grounds and gardens maintenance utilising both directly employed labour and contracted services.
The Post holder will be responsible for the management of a wide range of complex building services across a wide range of Buildings.
Liaison as necessary with Trust Management, Nursing, other support staff, and contractors to ensure optimal operation of all building services, plant, and equipment, to maintain a satisfactory Patient Environment.

Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.
Community Services
Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
