The role
As a Mechanical Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will be to provide specialist mechanical support for all aspects of work undertaken by the estates infrastructure team at HM Naval Base Clyde, Faslane.
Day-to-day, you’ll assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in maximising the utilisation of all the section’s resources:
* Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
* Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the mechanical maintenance area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
* Identify, analyse, investigate, diagnose, and generate solutions to problems for any mechanical issues on site.
* Investigate, plan, progress and manage a variety of mechanical based projects across the site.
* Produce, review and amend planned preventative maintenance documentation.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday and is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, Faslane, near Helensburgh.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer
* Knowledge of Mechanical systems and equipment.
* Working experience with Safe Systems of Work.
* Capable of working as a part of a tight knit, fast paced team.
* Building Services knowledge would be desirable but not essential.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer
* HNC minimum or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
