Description Constable – Financial Investigator Regional Economic Crime Unit - NWRECU North West Regional Organised Crime Unit Warrington The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region. This is an exciting and evolving role, where you will gain first-hand experience tackling the most serious of offenders across the North West and those who exploit financial systems as part of, or on behalf of OCG’s. You will be part of a team of police officers and police staff responsible for disrupting organised crime and removing assets under criminal and civil law including the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). This role contributes to the vigorous pursuit of organised crime groups and the safeguarding and protection of vulnerable members of our communities across the UK. We are looking for individuals who are methodical, tenacious, and able to demonstrate an ability to manage the casework of a financial investigator providing legislative and investigative guidance and direction across the NWROCU network. Applications are invited for the role of Constable Financial Investigator within the NWRECU. The successful applicant(s) would be expected to already be an accredited Financial Investigator or be willing to undertake and successfully complete the National Financial Investigation training programme. This includes an exam and the upkeep of a continuous professional development portfolio. The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s Serious and Organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm. The post is subject to an initial 2 year secondment with extensions based on continued funding.
