Job Description
The candidate that will succeed in this position will be able to ensure the quality management systems and engineering standards are implemented, maintained, and adhered to across the organization.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing welding and quality-related activities on sites throughout the UK, requiring regular travel and working away from home for several weeks.
* Office-based work reviewing contract requirements, drawings, welding requirements, etc.
* Welding inspection and general quality control of all site-based activities.
* Communicate with clients, engineers, and subcontract technicians (NDT, heat treatment, etc.) to facilitate cooperation and ensure successful project completion.
* Provide support to supervisors, engineers, and managers throughout the group.
* Confirm customer satisfaction.
* Manage and assist site management teams with site welding QA activities, including inspection, monitoring, material and consumable traceability, and compilation of comprehensive quality documentation packs.
* Audit sub-contractor QA documentation.
* Carry out non-conformance investigations and recommend corrective actions.
* Ensure a satisfactory quality interface up and down the company supply chain.
* Work with different companies within the group to manage quality-related issues.
Qualifications
* CSWIP 3.1
Desirable
* CSWIP 3.2
* IOSH or NEBOSH
* NVQ Level 4 or higher – Engineering Construction or equivalent
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Welding and Fabrication
* IWS or EWS
* ISO 9001 Quality Auditor
