Full-Time SEN Teacher – Bude, Cornwall
Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking for a fulfilling opportunity? Our partner school is seeking a dedicated educator to teach a mixed-ability class of 12 students with a range of special educational needs. Location: Bude, Cornwall
Start Date: After Easter (April 22nd)
Contract: Full-time, temporary to permanent
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 + SEN Allowance
Responsibilities:
1. Teaching a mixture of subjects to a small class of 12 students with diverse SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
2. Adapting lessons to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
3. Working closely with support staff, therapists, and the wider school team to deliver a tailored and inclusive curriculum.
4. Encouraging students’ personal, social, and academic development through innovative teaching methods.
5. Managing classroom behavior effectively while creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
6. Tracking student progress and collaborating with parents, carers, and SEN coordinators to ensure the best outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. Experience working with SEN students in a specialist or mainstream setting.
3. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
4. Strong classroom management and communication skills.
5. Passionate about inclusive education and making a positive impact on students with additional needs.
