This is a hybrid role, working from Holyrood, and from home. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Security Office as an Office Manager. The Security Office’s work aims to create a safe and secure environment for those who work in and visit the Parliament. We do this through a range of personnel and physical security measures which are designed to minimise disruption to parliamentary business and public engagement activities. We also work with Members and their staff, providing advice on keeping safe and secure when away from the main parliamentary campus. The Security Office is composed of around 90 staff. As Office Manager you will be responsible for managing the office processes and procedures, including monitoring spend against the office budgets, preparing responses for FOIs and complaints, and reporting regularly against office and contract KPIs. You will also be expected to continually develop office processes so they deliver effectively for our customers. You will provide project management support for office projects. You will have supervisory responsibility for the personnel security team, providing advice and support when needed on vetting and pass studio issues. You will also coach and develop administrative colleagues on all office systems and processes, to provide resilience and cover in the event of absence. About You The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator, with strong time management, organisational and prioritisation skills. You’ll be expected to be confident using all Office 365 packages and corporate systems, including financial systems. You’ll be confident in either coaching or training colleagues, but also be a good listener and able to take on a range of views. You’ll also have an analytical approach and thrive working on a range of different projects. You’ll demonstrate a high level of personal credibility with excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
