About this Role:
An experienced Senior Site Manager is required to work with this busy Tier 2 main contractor who is well established with a solid pipeline of work in the South.
Initially to work as a Site Manager for a £10m new build modular project in Lyneham, the project is on site and underway, running into the end of October.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the project and all site-based construction activities including:
1. Client liaison throughout the scheme;
2. Long, mid, and short-term programming of works;
3. Design development with the consultant design team;
4. Management and mentoring of the Assistant Site Manager;
5. Ensuring company health and safety standards are planned, communicated, achieved, and enforced;
6. Review of method statements and risk assessments (RAMS);
7. Organising deliveries of materials, logistics, waste management, etc.;
8. Quality control; Inspections and test plans;
9. Ensuring works progress on programme;
10. Regular end user liaison, working in daily contact with the school head and staff;
11. Coordination meetings with trades and other managers;
12. Reporting on progress against program;
13. Issue resolution;
14. Snagging and handover.
The project is due to complete in the summer this year.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The contractor is the busy regional office of a larger main contractor group with roughly £60m annual turnover, and a proven track record in the delivery of medium-sized new build and refurbishment schemes from £2m to £35m in the higher and secondary education, commercial, health care, and leisure sectors.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, and communication skills. Previous experience of working within a live operating building would be advantageous, as this project is in the grounds of a live base.
Ideally from a trades, construction management, or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail and finishes, you will possess strong planning and problem-solving ability, with a positive, 'get it right first time' approach. A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management would be advantageous, but not essential based on experience.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications for this role.
