The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Consulting Sustainable Solutions team on a permanent basis. With shared office space in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, and Motherwell, we welcome applications from Senior Project Managers across these regions. Our Sustainability Solution’s team provides strategic environmental consultancy services across transport, utilities, defence, and local government infrastructure. The team has a diverse range of skilled people with expertise in ecology, noise, air quality, landscape, arboricultural services, archaeology, carbon modelling, EIA coordination, EMS and auditing, and GIS specialists, servicing the environmental consulting needs within the wider Amey group. The role Our Senior Project Managers play an important part within the Sustainable Solutions team and alongside our clients such as Network Rail and Highways England. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be a key part of the team, acting as a team leader and taking responsibility for supporting the Project Management team on a variety of Environmental schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior Project Managers. Responsibilities include: To lead a team to product technically sound project management deliverables, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements The preparation, checking and maintenance of project management related information that enables Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered whilst satisfying the overarching criteria of quality, cost, and programme. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio, controlling budgets and managing the costs associated with the production of deliverables. Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc. Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function Drive effective health and safety practices within the team. What you will bring to us: Developed experience and expertise within the field of Project Management, probably gained in a Project Management role or equivalent. Previous experience in related infrastructure sectors and Environmental sectors are highly advantageous. Experienced in undertaking project related tasks associated with the management of health, safety, and welfare, e.g. Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations Capable of acting as day-to-day main project management contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission. Can take ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables to a reasonable standard. Very good working knowledge of project management software and similar analytical tools Demonstrates good commercial awareness. Demonstrates a good understanding of interface management. Successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence Bachelors or Master’s Degree in an appropriate subject Full membership of the Association for Project Management Association for Project Management Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent What we can offer you: At Amey, we recognise that our biggest asset is our people.
