Job Description
Senior Architect
Location: Buckinghamshire, Hybrid
Salary: £45k - £50k
Position Type: Permanent
Award-winning Multidisciplinary Design Studio, made up of an ambitious collective of Designers, Architects, and Interior experts, is seeking a likeminded Senior Architect to join their team. The studio is located in Buckinghamshire, peacefully nestled in nature as opposed to the hectic concrete jungle that is central London, with onsite parking for a beautifully designed studio space that promotes collaboration and inspires creativity.
They operate on a hybrid working basis, requiring the team to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week on their core days. This has allowed them to create a strong studio culture focused around cohesive efficient design, support, and mentorship. The Studio is a design and delivery branch of a large group, specializing in Retail and Commercial projects, with an ethos around human-centric design and extensive attention to detail. They have a steady pipeline of projects built up of key repeat clients. An exciting aspect of this position is the chance to be in a lead role, overseeing and managing one of their major retail clients.

1. Take a lead role in the delivery of projects and work closely with the Senior Management Team to help drive project efficiencies.
2. Run projects from feasibility to completion, managing design teams and dealing with contractors and consultants.
3. Conduct a client-facing role, including taking and interpreting briefs, liaising with clients to ensure any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
4. Contribute to design and technical production work, being hands-on with coordination and drawing reviews.
5. Assist with opportunities for developing new business and contributing to the company's growth strategy, including attending events that promote new business opportunities and pitching to clients.
6. Work closely with the Creative Director on heavily design-biased work, conducting regular reviews and collaborating on conceptual/design development.
7. Exercise exceptional time management skills, overseeing and reporting on multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Apply strong leadership skills, actively mentoring and developing junior team members.
Beneficial Experience:
1. Conducting risk assessments and risk management across a project life cycle.
2. Construction detailing and techniques.
3. Fluency in UK Building Regulations, including the BSA '22, and familiarity with a Principal Designer role/responsibilities.
4. Understanding of CDM related responsibilities.
5. Planning process experience.
6. Understanding of contract types & contractual responsibilities including Contract Administration.
Ideal Skills & Qualifications:
1. ARB Registered Architect with at least 6 years of UK-based industry experience.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD + Adobe Suite is essential (Revit or other software is a bonus).
3. Effective communication skills, visual, verbal, and written.
4. Time management to keep projects on schedule and within costs.
5. Proficient in putting together presentations.
Benefits: 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare scheme, regular social events with a close-knit team, company pension scheme, clear routes for progression, CPD, and personal development.
