The successful candidate will support clients with developing their energy/battery storage (grid scale) projects across the world. The role will be based within Mott MacDonald’s Energy unit and will involve working with specialists in Mott MacDonald’s renewables, transport and built environment practices. The role will be based in the UK or in Europe (Belgrade, Sofia, Madrid) Main Duties Electrical design (preparation of concept design reports and drawings for MV/HV systems). Specification of battery storage solutions Managing the delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to our quality assurance system. Acting as lead interface with clients. Supervision and mentoring of junior staff. Involvement in proposals and supporting submissions for new opportunities. Preparation of reports and deliverables, including presentations to senior client contacts on the outcomes of the work. The Successful Applicant Will Have The Following Attributes Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, with extensive post graduate experience in the industry. Strong demonstrable working knowledge of energy storage systems and related specialism such as transmission and distribution networks network design and renewable network design. Excellent report writing and communication skills (English). Sharp analytical skills and the ability to present quantitative knowledge to non-experts. Self-motivated and diligent, with ability to meet tight deadlines on simultaneous assignments. Attentive to detail, a dynamic listener, with a strong aptitude for the wider picture. Prepared to travel, sometimes at short notice, as required by projects and new business opportunities. Desired competencies / skills: Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Previous experience in the “integrated energy systems” sector such as green hydrogen and hybrid renewables with co-located BESS assets. Previous experience in electrical infrastructure projects as Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer or similar role. Project management and proposals experience. Appreciation of project risks and mitigation strategies. Appreciation of commercial sphere of project work including contract terms.
