Role Brief: Spectrum.Life’s Neurodiversity Service consists of a multidisciplinary team of qualified, accredited, knowledgeable, and experienced professionals who are passionate about supporting people to understand themselves and live happy, healthy, authentic, and meaningful lives. Our neurodiversity team continually strives to embody and develop neuro-affirming practice. We oppose the assumption that there is one ‘standard’ neurotype that exists and recognise that the population is neurodiverse. Neurotype (or brain type) variation is not only natural and inevitable but valuable (i.e. not a deficit). We recognise that the process of being neurodiversity affirming is an ongoing journey with no fixed end point, and one which requires constant action, learning, engagement, and commitment. We continually evaluate our practice through critical reflection and active seeking of feedback, and challenge neuro-normative thinking at every opportunity.
