Job summary
Tosupport the work of the Hospice in its provisionofspecialist palliative care by assisting the cateringteam to meet the food service aims and objectives.
TheCatering Assistant plays a fundamental part in supporting the catering provision by ensuring allrequirements for patients, visitors and staff are fullymet. The role requires someone who can showsensitivity and empathy as we support our patientsand their families whilst in our care.
Main duties of the job
Werelooking for a sensitive and empathetic individual to join our team at HealdGreen to assist in the preparation, production and service of, patient, visitorand staff food.
1. Assisting with the day to dayrunning of the hospice catering operation.
2. Help with the preparation andcooking of basic food dishes.
3. Deliver food and anyhospitality to patients, visitors and staff.
4. Wash crockery and cutlery in ahygienic manor.
5. Ensure patient confidentiallyis kept at all times.
6. Assist in the daily upkeep ofthe food management system.

7. Assistwith in the day to day smooth running of the kitchen and the catering service.
8. Ensureconfidentially is maintained at all times.
9. Adhereto safe working practices and all health & safety matters.
10. Assistin the maintenance of the food safety management system.
11. Undertakeother duties as assigned by the Head/Assistant cooks.
12. Be responsible for the correct use of equipment.
13. Maintainthe highest standards of Hygiene at all times.
14. Assistin the preparation and cooking of basic food dishes.
15. Ensurestaff eating areas are hygienic, clean and tidy throughout your shift.
16. Deliver andset up any Hospitality required.

Qualifications

23. Have a current level 2 food hygiene certificate, or willing to train for one.
24. Have a basic level of IT skills, with a willingness to development this further.
25. Be willing to undergo further training in allergens, nutrition and food safety.
Experience

26. Have previous experience in a similar role.
27. Have experience in food preparation.
28. Be able to organize their time and prioritize activities.
