Responsibilities:
* Removing engines from accident damaged and recovered vehicles safely and ensuring that they are suitable for re-sale to the trade and public.
* Dismantling cars and removing panels.
* Carrying out quality control checks prior to and after removing parts to ensure fit for purpose.
* Compliance with manual handling guidelines.
* Achieving agreed dismantling targets for removal of engines.
* Ensuring machinery and equipment is safe and maintained in working order - preventative maintenance.
* Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety policies and rules.
* Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensuring the area is always clean and tidy.
* Ensuring high standards of Health & Safety.
* Loading & unloading vehicles with a forklift.
* General yard operations & housekeeping duties.
* Providing cover for other roles on site as required.
Skills required:
* Enjoys working in a busy team and able to work effectively on your own.
* Enjoys working outdoors.
* Has mechanical interests.
* Experience in vehicle mechanics (Desirable).
* Must work well under pressure.
* Demonstrates a positive and determined attitude towards Health and Safety.
* Good communication skills (Essential).
* Previous experience within the Recycling sector (Desirable).
* Experience of operating a forklift truck/mobile plant (Desirable).
* Be well organised with a structured approach to work.
* Be able to understand and follow safe systems of work and structured processes.
