JOB TITLE: Maintenance Cleaning Operative LOCATION: The Gyle Shopping Centre PAY RATE: £12.00 per hour SHIFT PATTERN: 40 hours per week 5 days/7 Job Objective & Responsibilities: Working as part of our talented ABM Service Team at The Gyle Shopping Centre, you will be on the front lines in being responsible for delivering outstanding levels of customer services to all visitors to our site. You will be key in keeping the outdoor and indoor premises of The Gyle Shopping Centre site immaculate and tidy. You will be responsible for basic maintenance as well as the day-to-day cleaning responsibilities, from litter picking, to hoovering, to jet washing, to polishing, to cleaning our highly praised restroom facilities, and to using modern cleaning equipment such as our road sweeper and scrubber dryer. Under your supervisors and managers, you will be ensuring that the site cleaning checks and compliances are adhered to, for delivering high levels of cleaning services to our client & customers. Main Duties & Responsibilities: • Your duties will involve being a helpful point of contact for customers who need assistance. • Assisting Tenants when required. • Carrying out basic maintenance duties. • Being watchful for health and safety issues and to report them to the management team. • Ensuring that the cleaning/maintenance checks & site-specific compliances are adhered to. • Keeping Gyle Shopping Centre site safe, clean & welcoming towards our client & customers. • Being an excellent ABM brand ambassador. Person Specification: · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Excellent organizational and influencing skills. · Excellent attention to detail within cleaning/maintenance responsibilities. · Cleaner/Maintenance service experience within the retail or similar environment (required). · First Aid at work (desirable). · Able to work well and build rapport with customers & clients. · Articulate and able to communicate effectively. · Be able to work as part of a team. · Must be able to work on own initiative with a proactive and flexible attitude. · Must be able to follow instructions. · The ability to be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role & the business.
