Key Role and Responsibilities:
The Lead Scientist is a subject matter expert in Biacore and SPR methods, responsible for leading the development, optimisation and troubleshooting of these techniques.
This key member of the laboratory team works on multiple complex projects to resolve challenging technical issues and deliver high-quality execution of experimental work, adhering to all safety and quality procedures.
The role involves planning and executing complex experiments, as well as supporting more junior colleagues in project planning and execution.
The Lead Scientist identifies and implements technical and operational improvement projects.
Closely working with customers, the person resolves complex issues by understanding customer needs, plans experimental work meeting customer expectations, presents progress on project stages, and responds to customer questions.
Accountabilities and Duties:
* Competently plan and direct the work of others
* Lead and be accountable for delivering multiple projects (safety, quality, regulatory, right first time, on time) including creation and completion of project dashboards
* Evaluate and address risks and issues in a timely fashion (technical, resource, Customer, cost)
* Lead problem-solving/trouble-shooting/lessons-learned activities
* Coach, mentor, and train junior members of the department as required
* Be a role model for communication, best practices, and behavior within Development Services
* Responsible for customer proposals (technical content and man-days)
* Proactively contribute to departmental improvements
* Review and write reports to an agreed standard suitable for final review by Head of Department
Mandatory Requirements:
Highly experienced in Analytical Development
Proficient in Biacore - SPR, ELISA/plate-based methods, cell-based methods
Experience in implementing High-throughput automated methods and digitising processes advantageous
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, CMC, and DOE/AQbD advantageous
