About the Role
The team is looking for an experienced and passionate support worker to work within our supportive and approachable team of social workers, Team Coordinator, and Team Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for:
* Delivering family support services to adoptive parents and their children.
* Providing direct work with adoptive families who need specialist advice and support.
* Supporting the development of innovative adoption support services, especially through in-house therapeutic services.
* Building skills and knowledge in the team regarding families experiencing significant issues related to trauma and post-placement challenges.
* Providing one-to-one support to families referred for post-adoption support.
* Developing and delivering post-adoption training workshops for adoptive carers.
* Promoting our post-order support services.
* Keeping accurate data, reports, and records of service users.
* Being a key source of information on national adoption support policies and practices for Leicestershire County Council's staff.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
* Knowledge of the Adoption Support Fund and its utilization to support families with post-order needs.
* Specific knowledge/experience/understanding of post-adoption support issues unique to families caring for children with care experiences and trauma backgrounds.
* Experience working within health, education, or looked-after children settings.
* The ability to work under your initiative as well as being a strong team player.
* The ability to communicate well and work in partnership with a range of national and regional partners/stakeholders on multiple work-streams and meet deadlines.
* The ability to work with sensitive and confidential issues.
* An empathetic approach to helping and supporting people.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
