We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5, Staff Nurse to join our team for Wiltshaw Ward. The ward consists of 17 rooms, providing specialist facilities for the care of oncology patients, with a nursing patient ratio of 1 to 3 patients.
The successful candidate will be an oncology nurse with the vision and passion to help optimise high-quality patient care. Being a good team leader and team player, you will work together with the Manager and the other nursing team leaders to help foster good communication and improved processes to enhance the patient pathway. This is a demanding but very rewarding role with a Trust that is committed to the ongoing development of its staff. An ideal next step if you have the right blend of skills and experience to join us. You should possess a first-level degree and a relevant haemato-oncology or cancer qualification/experience.
Main duties of the job
* To plan, document, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co-ordinator of the shift.
* To develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.
* To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
