Proficiency in IT and a commitment to high-quality service delivery, even within changing environments, is essential. What the Job Involves The role focuses on supporting and supervising kinship foster carers within Cardiff's Fostering Service. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective systems to ensure quality support for Children in Need and Looked After Children. Key duties include recruitment and support of foster carers, meeting statutory child protection requirements, assessing needs and risks in family situations, participating in decision-making forums, such as fostering panels, and working collaboratively with multi-agency teams. You will also be responsible for identifying and commissioning suitable care packages and recording client data per Council policy. The role involves contributing to service development, team meetings, and training, often requiring flexible working hours outside of the typical office schedule. The focus of this position will evolve with service needs, with responsibilities extending to practice development areas and supporting workforce development through supervision of social work students.
