Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a large SEND Secondary School based in North Tyneside. The school caters for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have relevant qualifications as well as experience in working with children with SEND on a general or a 1:1 basis.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
* Experience and knowledge conducting one-on-one or small group support with students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
* An ability to assist with classroom activities, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to meet individual student's needs.
* Experience and knowledge on monitoring and recording student progress, can report to teachers, and adapt support strategies when needed.
* Can assist with behavioural management, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment for all students.
