Job summary An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the NUH theatres Education and Development team for a registered practitioner, enthused about all aspects of perioperative education and seeking to enhance and develop personal skills with the developmental pillar of education. The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team of clinical educators and training facilitators, that will support the post holder to design, implement, facilitate and maintain a project to enhance the long-term program of local preceptorship and induction within the dynamic perioperative environment. The enthusiastic individual will be committed to personal development and willing to complete a post graduate program of study to enhance skills in clinical education. In addition to the development of the preceptorship project, the individual will be encouraged and supported to participate in all elements of the role of the theatre clinical educator and training facilitator to further enhance skills. The main duties of this role include, but not exclusively: Work as part of an established education team within the perioperative environment. Work across both campuses of NUH within the perioperative environment. Using a quality improvement model and team support, design, manage, implement, facilitate and maintain a project designed to enhance the local preceptorship and induction program for preceptees to theatre. Provide continuous quality assurance and evaluation of the program of preceptorship. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national preceptorship guidelines and standards. Facilitate device training activities within theatres. Support and facilitate mandatory training. Support the development of learning and assessment material. Support the management of learners in the perioperative environment. Support the facilitation of teaching and lecturing as set out by the education team. Support the assessment of learners within the learning environment including clinical and classroom settings. Support the facilitation of teaching of associated posrt graduate courses at local HE institutes.
