Main duties of the job
Develop and Lead Strategy: Work alongside the Charity Managing Director to craft a philanthropy strategy aimed at growing income from major donors, corporate partners, and foundations. Your efforts will support key initiatives like the 'Play Your Part Campaign'.
Build and Cultivate Relationships: Engage with high-value supporters, including major donors and corporate partners, to secure six- and seven-figure gifts. You'll also nurture relationships with existing donors and identify new prospects.
Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with various departments to translate our impactful work into compelling cases for support, ensuring our projects resonate with potential funders.
Stewardship and Reporting: Lead a robust donor stewardship programme, ensuring high-value donors receive the attention and communication they need. You'll also be responsible for delivering detailed stewardship reports and analysis to aid decision-making.
Corporate Engagement: Identify and approach corporate partnership prospects, working with colleagues to promote sponsorship packages and secure support for key projects.
Manage a High-Performing Team: Lead and support the Trusts Foundations & Statutory Officer, ensuring they have the resources to excel in their roles and contribute to our charity's success.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure.

5. Demonstrable experience working in fundraising for Research, Health or charitable institutions, with securing and delivering high five to seven figure gifts/partnerships both within UK and Internationally from either trust, individuals or companies.
6. Ability to influence senior decision-makers internally and externally in philanthropic organisations; as well as wealthy individuals to ask/ negotiate for major gifts.
7. Proven ability to manage and cultivate a list of active and significant supporters
8. Experience of writing funding proposals, bids and applications with a track record of success
9. Extensive understanding and knowledge of improving and maintaining relationships with high net worth individuals/partners
10. Excellent persuasive writing, communication skills and team working.
11. An accurate worker, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Methodical in approach, with effective problem-solving ability
12. Sound knowledge in the use of information technology and its application in practice.
13. Experience in writing analysis reports.
14. Experience presenting complex, sensitive, or contentious information to a wide range of stakeholders with varied backgrounds.
