Job Description:
This role combines 2 different locations within walking distance of each other. Supporting the Cook Manager and Catering team.
Your experience as a competent 2nd Chef/Cook within the kitchen team, used to covering for the role of the Cook Manager in the absence of the main Cook, will allow you to really step up to support the running of the catering operation within the Home.
This will include preparing high quality home cooked, fresh, nutritional meals and catering for any day to day dietary and cultural needs.

About The Role
In the absence of the Cook Manager you will:
1. Lead, motivate and direct a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a first class catering service to the residents within the Home.
2. Prepare menus in consultation with the Cook Manager, Home Manager, residents, families, catering committees, understanding individuals' nutritional needs and choices, ensuring the quantity and quality of all food served is to the required nutritional standards.
3. Prepare any beverages and snacks throughout the day, around the needs and choices of residents.
4. Plan and deliver set menus in the absence of the Cook Manager.
5. Take responsibility for stock taking, stock rotation and storage of stock, including checking and receiving deliveries when required by the Cook Manager.
6. Monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, in conjunction with the Home Manager. Maintain records of the same, in line with Company procedures.
7. Be responsible for the presentation of the dining areas.
8. Assist in supervising all other kitchen staff.
9. Ensure that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food preparation are maintained at all times to meet environmental food safety standards.
