What you’ll be responsible for
Maintaining, repairing and installing equipment as part of the main MEI teams, working individually or as part of a team. Able to fault-find, rectify problems with electrical systems and all ancillary equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems generally.
* Demonstrating an ability to read, understand and work from electrical drawings.
* Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation to ensure performance of all assets.
* Actively taking part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
* Identifying problematic plant and the subsequent faults and taking part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working order.
* Identifying requirements of spares and materials using preferred suppliers.
* Completing all job cards and timesheets to allow for monitoring of workload, performance etc.
* Providing knowledge, information and onsite support for Welsh Water capital teams and operational teams.

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Fully qualified electrician who has completed a recognised apprenticeship in an industrial environment.
* Full, UK Driving Licence.
* Experience of working with pumps and variable speed drives.
* Knowledge of industrial processes and of fixed and variable speed motor control.
* Ability to read schematic diagrams and find and repair faults on electrical circuits.
* Solution focused approach to resolving problems.
* Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and use initiative, working proactively.
* The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the team is required for this role.
* Compliance with current standards and legislation i.e. BS7671: 2018, 18th Edition IET regulations.
* An excellent understanding of safe working practices and of planning and scheduling of work processes.
* Communication and ability to influence others.
* Working as part of a team.
* Critical thinking to be able to analyse information and provide a solution to situations effectively.

* A company vehicle will be provided.
* The successful candidate will be required to participate in a 1 in 4 standby call out rota.
