The role of Buildings Officer is to ensure the safety of all council buildings including maintenance planning, responsible for maintaining all compliance testing and Health & Safety.
The role requires flexibility to meet the service needs and requires a non 9-5 attitude.
1. Maintain the Councils building stock including planned and reactive maintenance
2. Lease management
3. Ad Hoc project management
4. Cost analysis of services and contracts
5. Monitoring of buildings including heating, lighting, lifts and contractors
6. Carry out and record daily H&S checks, including weekly fire alarm testing, take relevant action, repairs
7. Maintain the contract for compliance testing/management
8. Cleaning management (COSHH), coordination of cleaning duties
9. Management of utilities including contract renewal
10. Waste management
11. Risk Assessments
12. Undertake repairs/minor maintenance jobs i.e. fitting notice boards/signs, clearing blockages in toilets/sinks, lock repairs, minor electrical works. Arrange contractors for major faults for repair
