What it's like to work hereThis role is within the Chartwell portfolio which encompasses the Landemare café our main café at Chartwell with seating of 120 covers inside, 80 external and a further 70 in additional event space thats used for group booking and external events, together with a seasonally opening café situated in the grounds of the estate. Emmetts gardens a tea room located 5 miles away with seating for 50 internally and 70 externally. Giving you the opportunity to expand your experience over properties and events.

Although the role is predominately based at Chartwell there may be occasion that assistance will be needed at Emmetts gardens.
Chartwell is a busy operation with a passionate and dynamic team looking for someone to join and be part of the journey as we look to always improve and drive the business forward.
A busy day at Chartwell can look like- running the main café with a team of 10 on shift, with two ice cream outlets open across the estate and the Garden cottage café with a team of 3 keeping all of them open and running at fully capacity. A number of private pre booked groups in our event space, and not forgetting our back of house team of chefs and bakers led by our head chef.

What you'll be doing
As Food and Beverage Assistant Manager, youll be working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager. Youll be helping to look after the entire operation, keeping consistently high standards in the team, in the outlets, and in the food and drink we prepare and serve. Youll always have an eye on ways to improve service and standards for our visitors.
Youll support the team to help build a great place to work. This could include helping with recruiting and training new people or developing the team. Youll make sure that the team follow all relevant legislation and National Trust policies.
There will be some cooking and customer service elements to this role to maintain service levels and support the team.
Youll be setting and achieving financial targets to increase income and profits. This could be by driving sales through controlling resources and achieving the best possible customer service.
