About WorkWell WorkWell is a pilot project launched jointly by the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). WorkWell supports individuals with health conditions to stay in, return to or gain work. We provide early-intervention support through comprehensive health and work assessments, helping individuals overcome health-related barriers to employment. WorkWell also serves as a single point of access, connecting people to a wide range of local support services tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. We collaborate with mental and physical health teams, primary care networks, DWP and other referral partners to assist individuals who are employed but facing difficulties at work. We help individuals return to, stay in, or find new employment. Additionally, WorkWell offers support to individuals who have been out of work for up to 3 months, helping people access the right support and resources to improve their wellbeing and re-enter the workforce. Our Health at Work Coaches play a vital role by providing one-on-one coaching, promoting self-management strategies, signposting to relevant services, liaising with businesses. The Health at Work Coach will also explore appropriate interventions to support individuals' employment and wellbeing goals through utilisation of the participant spend budget.
