Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - The Role:
As a Junior Commissioning Engineer, you will work alongside an experienced Commissioning Engineer to test, configure, and commission generator sets, switchboards, and bespoke software. With mentorship and hands-on involvement, you’ll help ensure our backup power systems meet expectations.
Our projects range from single generator setups to complex systems with multiple generators, MV/HV switchboards, load management, and fuel systems. This role involves travel across the country, providing exposure to diverse industry sectors and opportunities to grow within a dynamic company.
Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation of new hardware to existing installations including power and control cabling
2. Provision of software for ComAp and DeepSea control systems
3. Modification of existing power systems
4. Develop system functional specifications and test specifications
5. Fault diagnosis and rectification on generator control systems
6. System testing to meet client and specification requirements
7. Liaison with customers and other interested parties
Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - You:
The ideal candidate would possess the following:
1. Educated to ONC / OND / HNC / HND level in one of the following engineering fields: Instrumentation, Control or Electrical or be a time served Electrician looking to change career
2. An interest in developing their electrical control capabilities of switchgear and generator system controls for either / both gas / diesel engines using ComAp or Deep Sea controllers
3. Knowledge of communication networks such as CAN, Serial (RS232/485) and Ethernet
4. Knowledge of power / Battery energy storage systems and 3 phase electrical systems
5. Full Valid Driving Licence
6. PC literate with Knowledge of Microsoft packages such as word, excel and powerpoint
Ongoing Qualifications, Skills, Training & Experience:
A full training package will be provided to develop your skills and capability in the role and will cover:
1. Power and switchgear
2. ComAp /DeepSea control systems and HMI / SCADA systems
3. Developing your technical knowledge of gas and/or diesel generators
4. The principles of generator operation & mains synchronisation, including knowledge of G59 and G99
You will also be trained in the following: First Aid at work, SSSTS / SMSTS for site supervision / management, CDM Regulations, Electricity at Work
