Building Surveyor - Complex works

The role:
Working across a case load of major repairs and minor planned works for a Central / West London based Housing Association
The role provides a maintenance surveying service that will entail, but will not necessarily be limited to; undertaking property surveys and inspections; drafting of schedules of works for complex, reactive repairs, project management of complex repairs, and quality assuring works undertaken by Contracors and our internal workforce.
The post holder will ensure works orders are raised and completed in accordance with S guidelines. They will manage a caseload of minor planned repairs and/or disrepair claims in line with the pre-action protocol for housing disrepair.
The role will entail regular pre and post inspections during the works and contribute to both the asset management strategy and estate improvement plans.
Key Skills and Experience:
Recognised technical qualification or professional qualification in building/surveying, minimum BSc, MCIOB or MRICS
Experience of preparing and supervising maintenance contracts
A minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance of housing stock/responsive repairs
Experience and knowledge of tendering and contractual procedures
Good knowledge of building construction and maintenance
Good knowledge and experience of building defect diagnosis
Good knowledge of legal disrepair
Good knowledge of damp and mould and its root causes
