Care Assistant £13/hr in DL16 - DAYS AND NIGHTS UP TO 24 HOURS - SPENNYMOOR - DL16
A 10 year old boy in Spennymoor requires day and night help at home from a caring and attentive individual who will treat him like a little boy who has the world to explore when he is well and when he is not he needs it bringing to his bedside.
Do you think you can help him access a world when he cannot move or lift his hand? At the same time, check his breathing?
He needs help so he can see the animals at the farm, bounce on a trampoline, and stretch his aching muscles in a warm hydro pool whilst supporting his full weight.
Can you check for signs he is not too tired or in discomfort? Can you take initiative to help with other care tasks and cleaning, while being mindful of his screen time?
At night, he needs help to maintain his airway, to move and position him, and to ensure he remains comfortable.
Can you help him get a good night's rest?
No experience is necessary, but it is more important that you are the right person who will put this boy's needs first and go the extra mile for him.
We have space on our team for you if you can do one (or more) of the following:
1. 1 - 2 nights per week (to be part of the team and take on any night needed, including sharing weekends, plus days/evenings. This will make up 24 hours. Rotas are planned 4-6 weeks ahead)
Typical night shift is 7pm-7am, this is a waking night shift.
Rate of Pay: £13 per hour.
No experience required, but knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
* Tracheostomy
* Oxygen
* Gastrostomy feeding
* Sats monitors
***You must be able to drive a wheelchair adapted van (standard full UK car license required)***
