We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Specialist, Environment, Health and Safety & Security (EHSS) to join our team in Surrey, BC. In this pivotal role, you will lead and support comprehensive industrial health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, local, and company standards. You'll collaborate with site leadership and employee groups to foster a culture of safety and security, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. What You'll Do:
* Work with Plant leadership and corporate EHSS to develop and implement health and safety programs, policies, and procedures including ergonomic practices, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and working at height safety practices.
* Develop necessary training modules to ensure that employees understand and can execute established procedures while meeting all federal & provincial requirements.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and systems through consistent monitoring and auditing; provide expert analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
* Lead site incident management (with support from Corporate EHS) with regards to food safety, environmental compliance, and safety.
* Conduct comprehensive regulatory or site safety and health policy audits, identify gaps, and deliver sustainable corrective action recommendations.
* Review and maintain all company personal injury records.
* Monitor changes in federal, state, and local safety and health codes, and communicates such changes to brewery management.
What You'll Bring:
* Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial engineering, or related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing safety programs, processes, and systems, with experience in a food & beverage manufacturing environment being a plus.
* Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) and/or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) status preferred.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Ability to perform risk assessments and lead risk reduction initiatives.
* Deliver on commitments and take ownership.
* Ability to flex time and connect with team members on different shifts to build relationships and ensure smooth operations.
* Prioritize safety as the most important KPI in the manufacturing environment.
