Do you have a proven track record of delivering high quality services to children and young people?
Are you committed to providing an outstanding service for children and young people?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then we would like to hear from you. As part of South Tyneside's drive for continuous improvement we are looking for an enthusiastic, positive person to undertake the role of Missing Children Co-Ordinator.
This is an opportunity to join a developing service and provide a key contribution towards safeguarding our children and young people in South Tyneside.
The Missing Children Co-Ordinator post will have a key role in identifying reasons for children and young people missing from home and will work collaboratively with services to provide support. Integral to the post will be the raising of awareness with children and young people and also provide training for professionals, parents and carers.
You will co-ordinate and develop the Return Home Interviews for missing children/young people, fulfilling the Local Authority’s role and statutory duty in this area.
Being responsive to the needs of each child/young person, having listened to their story, you will build trusting relationships and tailor support to meet the individual needs of children and young people. Working closely with a range of partner agencies including Police and Children’s social care will ensure timely responses in an integrated manner.
The role will ensure that effective action is taken to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people and that best practice in this area is researched and shared.
