Introduction:
RSPB Saltholme is a fantastic reserve in the heart of the Tees Valley, attracting over 70,000 visitor per year. The café has 64 covers offering spectacular views across the reserve. In the summer, the café is surrounded by the sounds of breeding common terns. We have exciting plans to develop our food and beverage offer over the next few years and we are looking for a Food and Beverage Manager to join the team and lead these changes!
We are looking for an individual who is a true foodie, with a keen eye for detail and who will lead the integration and delivery of the RSPBs food and beverage strategy, creating an exemplar customer experience, with the aim to maximise the income and profit of the RSPB café and food and beverage offer.
You will have the ability to deliver to the highest of standards with excellent customer care, while also being responsible for the day-to-day running of the café operation, in line with RSPB procedures and routines.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
* Ensuring the café is delivering the highest standard of customer care.
* Achieve financial targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to deliver against catering goals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ensuring all catering administration, operating processes, security, food hygiene and health and safety adhere to RSPB procedures.
* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback.
* Ensuring that all catering staff and volunteers are recruited trained and managed in accordance with RSPB guidelines and policy that results efficient team working.
* To be responsible for the planning and efficient day to day running of the cafe.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
* A natural leader who can influence, motivate and inspire people at all levels.
* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback.
* Successful experience of leading and managing a diverse team.
* Proven track record of managing a successful catering operation.
Additional Information:
* This role is a Full Time Role of 37.5 hours working 5 days out of 7.
* You will need to be available to work during the day (occasional evenings), and weekend and Bank Holiday working will be essential.
