Recruitment of Locum OMFS Clinical Fellows for On Call
NHS Tayside has a vacancy for a locum Clinical Fellow for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague to work in a busy hub-and-spoke Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department and provide on call cover (midweek and weekend). Applications are welcome and the post is available from 1st April 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to cover on-call Thursday (1700 – 0800) and weekends (1:6). Candidates for this role must have full GMC or GDC registrations (or both). Previous experience in OMFS in the UK is mandatory. 1st or 2nd on call tier will depend on experience.
The Duties will include:
1. To be responsible for the continuing care of patients as designated by consultant staff.
2. To perform regular ward rounds and provide care for in-patients.
3. To review and care for patients presenting to the on call service.
4. To undertake basic medical and surgical care for on call patients.
5. To attend trauma theatre lists and assist with all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery unscheduled care.
6. To carry out appropriate administrative duties in support of clinical commitments.
7. To develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
8. To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
9. To provide safe clinical continuation with safe and thorough in-person handover of care.
