OpenCPI Engineer – Enabling the Next Generation of RF & SDR Capabilities
We are seeking an experienced OpenCPI Engineer to design, build, and optimize high-performance Software-Defined Radio (SDR) systems and RF applications. In this role, you’ll leverage the OpenCPI framework to support the development of advanced communication technologies in mission-critical environments. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust system integration, effective testing, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
OpenCPI Development & Integration
* Develop and integrate SDR and RF systems using the OpenCPI framework, contributing to the full lifecycle from concept to deployment.
System Design & Collaboration
* Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex RF communication systems, ensuring smooth integration into broader mission architectures.
Testing & Verification
* Apply test-driven development practices to verify functionality and performance throughout the development lifecycle, using OpenCPI and associated tools.
Performance Optimization
* Optimize software and system performance for efficiency, reliability, and real-time processing requirements within OpenCPI-based platforms.
Security & Risk Mitigation
* Identify potential system vulnerabilities and apply mitigation strategies to ensure secure and resilient deployments.
Technical Communication & Reporting
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers, delivering clear technical documentation, performance reports, and recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills & Experience
* Must already hold enhanced UKIC DV Clearance
* Hands-on experience with the OpenCPI framework in SDR system design, integration, and optimization.
* Strong foundation in RF communications, software-defined radio, and related technologies.
* Solid background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), RF algorithms, and embedded development.
* Proficiency in C/C++ and/or VHDL for embedded systems.
* Understanding of SDR platforms and radio architectures, including modern chipsets.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with OSP/BSP development and hardware abstraction.
* Familiarity with GNU Radio, Python, or other SDR development environments.
* Experience in Linux-based development and version control systems such as GitLab.
* Involvement in mission system integration, including support for field trials.
* Experience using real-time test and measurement tools (e.g., vector signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
