Job summary We are looking for 2 x Band 4 (22.5 hours per week) individuals to support us in the management of our large skin cancer patient caseload. We look after patients with a variety of skin cancers including melanoma and squamous cell carcinomas. The incidence of skin cancers is increasing every year and so too is our workload. You will be working with 7 skin cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and are very supportive. We are looking for somebody who is well organised, can prioritize and has the ability to work to deadlines. You will be expected to communicate with patients, organise appointments and liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary team. We would like core hours covered and visibility in the office. Flexible working can be applied for. Main duties of the job To maintain a database of outstanding patient procedures and scans according to requests from the CNS (clinical nurse specialist). Check for results on a daily basis and then notify and escalate to the relevant professional accordingly. To assess the priority of patient queries or tasks from patient databases. To then pass this information on to the relevant CNS, doctor or department, or deal with them yourself if within scope of practice. To maintain a database of all patients under routine skin cancer follow up and ensure that their appointments are booked on time, escalating to a CNS or appointment booking coordinator, if not. To be aware which CNS team members are available each day in order to ensure tasks and information are being passed on appropriately, and not missed due to staff absence.
