Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home
Cheddar, Chard and Ilminster, Somerset
£30,160 + £43.47 per sleep-in and generous attendance bonus

I am looking for Senior Support Workers to work in a service that provides a home to children and young people with mental health issues and emotional and behavioural disorders. The homes are rated as ‘Good’ with Ofsted and are part of a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK.

In this Senior Support Worker role, you will:

1. Supervise Support Workers to ensure that disadvantaged young people are cared for in line with legislative, contractual, and inspection framework requirements.
2. Be a positive role model to young people – building and creating mutual trust and respect.
3. Produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
4. Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people.
5. Coach, support, and develop Support Workers.
6. Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills.

For this rewarding role, you must have:

1. At least 12 months residential care experience with children and young people.
2. QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
3. The ability to work on a rota basis (2 days on/4 days off) and undertake sleep-in duties.
4. A full UK driving licence (essential).
