Salary: £84 per day
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary, Term Time Only (plus INSET days)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our client secondary school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' educational and personal development, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students, both within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support to students, both in and out of the classroom, to facilitate their learning and personal development.
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and preparing resources, adapting materials to meet the needs of individual students.
* Support students with varying needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.
* Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs) as necessary.
* Encourage and motivate students, fostering a sense of independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
* Assist with administrative tasks and support the wider school community as required.

Requirements:
* Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
* Must have completed safeguarding training.
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is highly desirable.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting student learning.
