Infrastructure Engineer (Windows and Linux)
Cambridge
£50k-£60k
We've partnered with one of Cambridge's software houses to find a talented IT Infrastructure Engineer. This isn't just another tech role - it's a chance to join a forward-thinking company that values its team, offering perks like hybrid working (2-3 days remote), a generous bonus scheme, free parking in Cambridge, and regular 'Lunch and Learn' sessions to keep your skills sharp.
All candidates must be within a 45-minute commute of Cambridge. Unfortunately, this is not an entry-level position, and all candidates must have their own full right to work and remain in the UK without any restrictions.
You'll take the reins on:
* Supporting and optimising a mixed Windows and Linux Server environment.
* Maintaining and improving network systems.
* Leading IT projects - think upgrades, migrations, implementations, and installations.
* Overseeing backup and disaster recovery systems.
* Acting as a senior escalation point for technical issues.
We need a self-starter with the following skills and experience:
* Strong expertise in both Windows and Linux/Unix systems administration.
* Proficiency in Windows tools and technologies like Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Hyper-V, and SCCM.
* Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
* Command Line and Strong Powershell Scripting.
* A knack for clear, confident communication.
* Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.
Why This Role?
If you're ready to step into a senior role with autonomy and responsibility, where your contributions directly impact a growing company, this is your chance. Plus, you'll enjoy working with a team that balances innovation with a people-first approach.
