An exciting opportunity has arisen for Obstetric Clinical Fellow in Simulation Training & Education to join our progressive and friendly Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to start in October 2025.
The successful candidate will join a Department that provides services for Obstetrics, Feto-maternal medicine, Obstetric Medicine, General and Acute Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy, Sub-Fertility, Colposcopy, Ambulatory Hysteroscopy, Urogynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology.
We have a structured and comprehensive training programme and the appointed Doctor will be allocated an Educational Supervisor. We encourage career progression and follow the RCOG training matrix for all our non-Deanery doctors.
We also support applicants who would like to achieve specific RCOG Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSMs). At present, we offer ATSMS in Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy, benign Gynaecology, Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Advanced LW practice, Labour Ward Lead, Maternal Medicine.
Main duties of the job
A postgraduate simulation and medical education fellowship is aimed at trainees who want to make a commitment to education as part of their career. Candidates should aim to use the year in order to build on their personal teaching experience, develop expertise in simulation training and practice and undertake supervised educational research.
The post holder will be supervised by one of the Obstetric and Gynaecology simulation leads who will oversee their development in the placement and co-ordinate opportunities for personal development. A customised programme of training, simulation and educational experience will be designed around the needs of the individual.
Person Specification
Essential
* Full GMC Registration
* MRCOG Part 1 (or equivalent)
* Must have worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK for at least 2 years and reached required competencies at Registrar level
* Excellent communication skills written and spoken English language
Desirable
* MRCOG part II (or equivalent)
