Company Overview: Our client is a leading company specializing in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services for Data Centre, Critical Engineering, and Commercial projects. With a robust turnover of £120 million, the company delivers high-quality, reliable, and efficient M&E solutions for packages ranging from £5 million to £90 million. Position: Mechanical Estimator Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (PAYE) Benefits: Car allowance, Hybrid/Remote working, Competitive benefits package Team Structure: The successful candidate will join a team of five, reporting directly to the Pre-Contracts Director. The team includes two Mechanical Estimators and two Electrical Estimators. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical packages in M&E projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with the Pre-Contracts Director and other estimators to develop and review project proposals. Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Identify and mitigate project risks, providing value engineering solutions where appropriate. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, and new technologies in the M&E industry. Assist in the preparation and presentation of tender documents. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations. Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the M&E sector, particularly with Data Centre, Critical Engineering, or Commercial projects. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components used in M&E projects. Proficiency in estimating software and tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
