The primary purpose of the Assistant Management Accountant is to play a key role within the ICB Finance team to deliver high quality finance support to the ICB. The role will be a key part of a directorate Management Accounting team in ensuring the successful delivery of monthly performance reporting, development of budgets, plans and forecasts primarily in relation to Primary Care. The post holder will be responsible for advice and support to a range of budget holders within the ICB. They will support and guide budget holders by providing financial information, analysis, advice, and challenge to enable them to meet their financial targets and operational commitments, this will include assistance with the review and costing of business cases, validation of savings and monitoring of delivery. They will be required to demonstrate core financial skills including monthly and quarterly monitoring and reporting and the ability to support and communicate effectively with a range of clinical and non-clinical budget holders. They will be required to demonstrate core financial skills to assist with financial planning and budget setting. The post holder will provide help, advice and training to budget holders and others on financial issues, with focus on budgetary control, investigating variances and suggesting corrective actions, in line with current organisational policies. Working, at all times, to ensure value for money within the NHS and for the population of Suffolk & North East Essex ICS. The post-holder will be a member of a small team and will be required to work closely with other teams, Committees, project groups and other partner organisations. To provide ad hoc financial support and analysis to the Senior Finance Business Partners.
