Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wakefield, WF4
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year

A client is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors to join their team in Wakefield. This role is crucial to ensuring the financial success of construction projects, working across all project stages - from pre-construction to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation - Assess project drawings/specifications to calculate material, labour, and equipment costs.
2. Budget Management - Track and manage project budgets to ensure financial accuracy.
3. Procurement - Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Contract Administration - Assist with contracts, assess variations/claims, and ensure compliance.
5. Value Engineering - Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
6. Risk Management - Monitor and mitigate financial and operational risks.
7. Cost Control - Implement measures to track and optimise spending.
8. Final Account Settlement - Ensure payments and accounts are finalised upon project completion.
Essential Requirements:
1. A proven track record in construction quantity surveying.
2. Minimum 3 years of surveying experience.
3. A valid CSCS Card.
4. A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
5. A UK driving licence.
6. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
